CO2
CO2 is an old refrigerant, but is now becoming the new environment friendly very efficient refrigerant for industrial refrigeration systems. Per Skærbæk Nielsen and Thomas Lund, the owners and founders of Cool Partners ApS, has played and important role in the development of new CO2 cascade systems with hot gas defrost for industrial refrigeration applications.
In 2003 Per Skærbæk Nielsen and Thomas Lund received the “Andy Ammonia award” for the technical paper and the presentation: “Introducing a New Ammonia / CO2 Cascade Concept for large fishing vessels” at the IIAR ammonia refrigeration conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
With this background, Cool Partners ApS can provide highly qualified technical advice and assistance on many subjects in the area of industrial CO2 refrigeration systems such as:
-
How do we make safe systems with regards to the high pressures?
-
Where and how do we store the CO2 when the system shuts down?
-
How do we make valve stations at the evaporators, and which valves should we use?
-
How do we defrost?
-
Which materials can handle CO2, and which cannot?
-
Compressors and lubrication with CO2?
-
Which oil should we use?
-
Should it be an oil that dissolves in the CO2 or not?
-
How do we return oil that dissolves in the CO2, and why can a “normal” R22 oil
rectifier system not be used?
-
Why are the CO2 systems more efficient than expected in many situations?
- Controlling a CO2 system; why is it so difficult, and what should be considered?
